Application Procedures for SJZU 2024 Chinese Government Scholarship-Bilateral Program (Type A)
Bilateral Program includes a full or partial scholarship established by MOE in accordance with educational exchange agreements or consensus between Chinese government and governments of other countries, institutions, universities, or international organizations.
I Supporting Categories, Instruction Language and Duration
Supporting Category: The Bilateral Program supports undergraduate students, graduate students, general scholars, and senior scholars. Please consult the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country or the foreign student dispatching department of your country for specific enrollment categories; Shenyang Jianzhu University has no right to accept directly.
Instruction Language: The language of instruction for undergraduates studying in China under Chinese Government Scholarship is Chinese. The teaching language of Chinese government scholarship graduates and non-degree scholarship students studying in China is generally Chinese. Some majors of Shenyang Jianzhu University can be taught in English (for details, please visit https://www.campuschina.org/ website and refers to the introduction and majors of Shenyang Jianzhu University).
Duration: The scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language (preparatory study), and shall not be extended in principle.
II Where and When to Apply
Where to Apply:Apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country.
When to Apply:You need to apply between early November and early April of next year. Please consult the dispatching authorities for the specific deadline of each year.
III Eligibility
1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health.
2. The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must:
●be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for the undergraduate programs;
●be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for the master’s programs;
●be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for the doctoral programs;
●be under the age of 45 and have a high school diploma (or above) when applying for the general scholar programs;
●be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for the senior scholar programs.
IV Application Procedure
Step 1 - Apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country for CGS opportunity;
Step 2 - Apply to Shenyang Jianzhu University for the Pre-admission Letter once recommended by the dispatching authorities as an eligible candidate (you will receive an Award Letter for CGS Candidate);
Step 3 - Complete the online application procedure at CGS Information Management System for International Students (click “Application Online” to log in), submit online the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship, and print a hard copy. You should consult the dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country for Instructions of CGS Information Management System for International Students and Agency Number;
Step 4 - Submit all your application documents to the dispatching authorities of your home country before the deadline.
V Application Documents
a) Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English).
b) Copy of Passport Home Page: Applicant shall submit a clear scanned copy of his/her ordinary passport with validity later than March 1, 2024.
c) Notarized highest diploma: Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
d) Academic transcripts: Academic records from first to the last semester during the high school, undergraduate, graduate (if any), and the doctoral programs (if any) shall be provided. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
e) A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English. (A minimum of 200 words for undergraduates, 500 words for non-degree students, and 1000 words for postgraduates.)
f) Recommendation letters: Applicants for graduate programs or senior scholar programs must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors.
g) Applicants for music studies are requested to submit their own works. Applicants for fine arts programs must submit their own works which include two sketches, two color paintings and two other works.
h) Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China.
i) Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy should be kept by the applicant. The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority.
j) Non-criminal record report: The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.
k) The applicant could get in touch with the Admission Office of Shenyang Jianzhu University to submit the application(send the application documents to inter@sjzu.edu.cn, with email subject “Pre-admission letter for Type A”). The admission office will do the material evaluation and arrange academic review for the applicant. If the applicant could pass the mentioned review, SJZU will issue the pre-admission letter for the student. Students who have obtained the pre-admission letter could include this document in the application materials and submit to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country.
l) Language qualification certificate: e.g., HSK certificates, IELTS or TOFEL report.
